Email Tune Policy

SBR Email Tune Policy

This policy covers all SBR Custom Merge Tune email tune products, across every platform we list. Placing an order means you have read and agree to it. If anything here is unclear, email us at sales@sbrperformance.com before you buy.

What you are buying

An Email Tune is a custom calibration built on your own vehicle's stock read. You send us your read along with your full mod list and setup, we merge our proven SBR calibration into your exact file, and we email the finished tune back to you to flash yourself. It is a made-to-order digital product, built specifically for your vehicle and locked to your equipment.

This is not a canned file. It is also not a live or dyno tune. If you want us on the car while it is being dialed in, that is our on-site and dyno tuning service.

What we need from you

After you order, reply to your order confirmation email with three things:

  1. Your stock read file from your vehicle
  2. Your HP Tuners interface serial number
  3. Your full mod list and setup

Be thorough on that third one. Cam, heads, intake, headers, exhaust, injectors, throttle body, converter, boost or nitrous, transmission, gear, tire size, and the fuel you are running. The quality of your tune depends on the quality of that list. We will come back with questions if we need them, and that adds time.

What you need to supply

To use an Email Tune you must have your own HP Tuners MPVI interface, VCM Suite software, and available credits to write your controller. These are your responsibility and are not included in the price. If you cannot read and write your own controller, this product is not for you, and we are happy to point you toward our mail-in tuning instead.

Interface generation matters on some platforms. Per HP Tuners, the 96-04 Crown Victoria and the 03-04 Mercury Marauder require an MPVI4 interface. Earlier MPVI interfaces will not read or write those cars. Check what you have before you order.

Platforms we do not cover by email

Some late-model GM controllers cannot be read or written at all until HP Tuners performs a send-in unlock or upgrade service, which means physically shipping your module to them. We deliberately do not list those platforms as email tunes. That includes GM Global B trucks and SUVs, the C8 Corvette, the 2019 ZR1, the V-series Blackwings, the 2.7 turbo, and the diesel Duramax controllers.

If that is your vehicle, contact us about mail-in service instead. We would rather tell you up front than take your money and hit a wall.

Fitment

Buy the platform that matches your vehicle. If your read does not match the platform you purchased, we will contact you before building anything. If it turns out not to be a fit at all, we will cancel and refund the order in full. If you are not sure which entry is yours, message us first and we will tell you straight.

Refunds

Because every tune is custom-built for your vehicle and delivered as a digital file, all sales are final once your finished tune has been emailed to you. We cannot accept returns on a calibration that has already been built and sent.

Before your file is delivered, you can cancel for a full refund at any time. Just email us at sales@sbrperformance.com with your order number.

Your file is locked to you

Every Email Tune is locked to your HP Tuners interface serial number and to your VIN. It will only write to your vehicle, with your interface. That is why we ask for your serial. If you later change interfaces, swap controllers, or sell the vehicle, the file will not carry over. Reach out and we will help you sort out a new file.

Your tune is licensed to you for your vehicle. Sharing, reselling, or redistributing an SBR calibration is not permitted.

Fuel requirements

Run the fuel your tune was built for. The 91 and 93 tunes are for pump gas. Race fuel tunes are for off-road use only. Do not run a race fuel tune on the street or on a vehicle with catalytic converters. Running the wrong fuel can damage your engine and is not covered by us.

Turnaround

We aim to deliver your finished tune within 24 to 48 hours. That clock starts once we have everything we need from you: your stock read, your interface serial number, and your mod list. If any of it is missing, the clock starts when you send it.

Flashing and liability

You are flashing your own controller, and you do so at your own risk. You are responsible for writing the correct file, following the instructions we provide, keeping a solid battery voltage during the write, and not interrupting it. SBR Performance is not responsible for damage caused by improper installation, running the wrong fuel, hardware failure, an interrupted write, an inaccurate mod list, or use of the tune outside what it was built for.

Off-road and race calibrations are for closed-course use only. You are responsible for complying with the emissions and vehicle laws where you drive.

Support and revisions

If something does not seem right after you flash, email us with a datalog and we will take a look. Minor adjustments to dial in the combo you told us about are part of taking care of you. A different combination, added modifications, or a new fuel is a new tune.

Chargebacks

If you have a problem, contact us first. We are a small shop and we will work with you. Filing a chargeback on a custom digital product that has already been delivered is not a substitute for reaching out, and we reserve the right to dispute chargebacks on delivered tunes.
