A safety-focused fuel rail upgrade for Ecotec Cavalier and Sunfire builds. The stock Ecotec fuel rail has a known weak point: the crimped fuel line fitting where the feed line enters the rail. This Cosman-built rail is reconditioned and tapped to accept a large AN fitting, eliminating that failure point entirely.
Why The Stock Crimp Fails
The factory crimp was designed around a stock fuel system on a street car, not a race car. It is a permanent, non-serviceable connection that gets asked to do a lot more than it was built for once you start making power:
- Age and heat cycling. These cars are 20-plus years old. Every heat cycle works the crimp and the rubber underneath it
- Ethanol content. Modern pump fuel is harder on the original hose and seal material than what these cars left the factory running
- Higher fuel pressure. Upgraded pumps and regulators push the crimp well past what it was specified for
- Vibration. Track use, higher RPM, and stiffer mounts all put load into a joint that cannot be inspected or re-tightened
When that crimp lets go, you have pressurized fuel spraying in the engine bay. On a race car, that is not a maintenance item, it is a fire.
What The AN Conversion Gives You
Tapping the rail for a large AN fitting replaces a one-time crimp with a proper serviceable, mechanical connection. You get a joint that can be inspected, torqued, removed, and reused, and you can run quality AN line rated well beyond what the stock setup handled. It also makes the rest of the fuel system easier to build out down the road, since everything downstream can move to AN instead of working around a factory crimp.

Your core needs to be a complete, rebuildable stock Ecotec fuel rail. If your core arrives damaged, incomplete, or is not the correct unit, we will contact you before moving forward. If you change your mind after ordering and would rather keep your core, just reach out and we will invoice you for the difference so we can ship right away.
